Webslinging Abounds in New ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Trailer (VIDEO)
Spoiler Alert: There’s nothing really all that new, earth-shattering, or groundbreaking in this new trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. I don’t know if that’s intentional or not, but part of me thinks that it must be because why else would Marvel reuse so much footage from the first two trailers? Seriously, this entire trailer is almost exclusively made up of scenes we’ve already seen before with some added lines of dialogue or with more context given.
I get that Marvel probably doesn’t want to give up their best stuff in a trailer, but if I have to see that scene of Spidey and Iron Man flying past the camera in one more trailer, I’m going to lose my mind. This trailer does give us a sense of the film’s structure and story, but it’s still a far cry from revealing much of anything. This isn’t bad in theory, as I don’t think any of us want the film spoiled in a trailer, but if you haven’t got anything new to bring to the table, why even release a third trailer?
These are all petty complaints as this trailer does ultimately reinforce the notion that this is going to be a truly “fun” Spider-Man movie, something that nearly every other one of his big screen adventures has been seriously lacking. I just hope there aren’t any more trailers, especially because the film is due in theaters in a little over a month. Spider-Man: Homecoming hits screens in North America on July 7.
