90th Oscar Nominations Announced

Phantom Thread gets a surprise boost.

The Oscar nominations were announced yesterday, with a few shocks and snubs as usual. I saw The Shape of Water and Phantom Thread on Sunday, and the unexpected Oscar love for the latter is wonderful. Christopher Plummer’s historic nomination still astounds me, but I haven’t even seen the film yet. And that Logan screenplay nomination is awesome. I suppose I did okay with my predictions on the whole, though I’m kicking myself in some categories. Overall, I love the nominees this year. Check out how I did on my predictions below.
