Yesterday, I walked over to see the newly relocated KRB store. KRB stands for Kate Rheinsten Brodsky who owns the shop. Those of you in the design world might know that Kate is the daughter of legendary interior designer Suzanne Rheinstein.
Suzanne is one of the nicest people I have ever met and the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. I had never even met Kate in person when she recommended me to her sister-in-law to decorate her new apartment. I got the job and will never forget her kindness.
KRB opened a few years ago on East 79th Street but when the opportunity to move to a larger space in the same building as her office opened up on 74th Street, she decided to move. She now has much more more room to display the antiques she finds along her travels, as well as new accessories and furniture. A lot of home stores have closed on the Upper East Side in the last few years so I’m really happy KRB is here to stay.
